New Construction Wiring

Rough-in to trim-out electrical for residential new builds in Lincoln and the surrounding metro area.

Builder-Ready Inspection Coordination Licensed & Insured

Working With Builders

Stevens Electrical works alongside general contractors and custom home builders on residential new construction throughout the Lincoln metro. We understand build schedules and coordinate directly with the GC to ensure electrical work fits into the broader project timeline without causing delays for other trades.

Electrical on a new build happens in two major phases. The rough-in phase happens after framing and before drywall — this is when all the wiring is run through the walls, boxes are placed, and the panel is installed. After drywall, the trim-out phase installs all the devices, fixtures, covers, and final panel connections. Both phases require inspection by the City of Lincoln, and Stevens Electrical handles permit applications and inspection scheduling from start to finish.

We've built relationships with inspectors and know what Lincoln's residential code expects. First-time inspection passes keep your project on schedule — that's what we aim for every time.

Typical Process

How a new construction electrical project flows from start to finish.

Phase 01

Rough-In

After framing is complete, we run all wiring through walls and ceilings, place electrical boxes, install the main panel, and complete all rough wiring to code. This phase must be complete before insulation and drywall.
Phase 02

Inspection

We schedule and coordinate the rough-in inspection with the City of Lincoln. The inspector reviews all rough wiring before drywall covers it. Passing this inspection is required before the project can move forward.
Phase 03

Trim-Out

After drywall and painting are complete, we return for trim-out: installing all devices (outlets, switches), fixtures (lights, fans), cover plates, and completing all panel wiring and breaker installation.
Phase 04

Final

We coordinate the final electrical inspection, label the panel completely, and walk the homeowner or GC through the completed electrical system. The project is done when it passes final inspection.
