24/7 Emergency Electrical
When you call Stevens Electrical in an emergency, you reach Michael directly — not a voicemail, not a dispatch center.
What Counts as an Emergency
If you're unsure, call. These situations warrant immediate attention:
Burning smell near your panel or outlets
A burning smell from electrical equipment is a fire warning sign. Turn off the relevant breaker if safe to do so and call immediately.
Sparking outlets or switches
A brief spark when plugging in a device can be normal. Sparking with a burning smell, or sparking that continues, is not — it needs immediate evaluation.
Breakers tripping and won't reset
A breaker that trips repeatedly or won't stay reset is protecting you from something. Don't force it — call.
Loss of power to critical systems
No power to medical equipment, a sump pump during a storm, or heating in winter — these warrant an emergency call, not a wait until morning.
Safety First — Do Not Touch Electrical Equipment During an Emergency
If you smell burning, see sparks, or suspect an electrical problem — do not attempt to inspect or fix it yourself. Turn off the main breaker if you can safely reach the panel, leave the area if you smell smoke, and call us or 911 if there is any sign of fire. Wait for a licensed electrician to assess the situation before restoring power.
What Happens When You Call
You reach Michael directly
No voicemail. No callback queue. Michael answers the emergency line personally, 24 hours a day.
He'll triage the situation over the phone
Michael asks a few questions to understand what's happening, whether it's safe to stay in the home, and what steps to take while he's on his way.
On-site: repair or make safe
Once on site, the goal is to identify the problem and either repair it completely or make it safe to leave overnight if a full repair needs to wait until daylight or parts are available.
He explains exactly what happened
No mystery. Michael explains what the problem was, what he did about it, and what — if anything — needs to be done next. You leave the situation understanding what happened in your home.
Emergency? Don't wait.
